Batten screws are used to fix roof battens to rafters and structural timber framing members. Toolup stocks batten screws in 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm lengths in 316 (A4) marine-grade stainless steel for coastal construction, and in standard zinc-plated finishes for inland applications.
Why 316 Stainless for Roof Battens?
Roof batten fixings are in place for the life of the building — 20, 30, or 50 years. In coastal environments within 5km of the ocean, zinc-plated batten screws will corrode and can eventually fail, causing batten movement and roofing problems. 316 stainless is the minimum recommended grade for coastal roof batten fixing and is increasingly specified on all coastal builds by structural engineers and building inspectors.
Choosing the Right Length
50mm — For thinner battens or secondary batten systems where maximum penetration isn't required.
75mm — The most common residential roof batten length. Suits standard 45mm battens and provides solid penetration into the rafter below.
100mm — For thicker batten profiles and commercial applications where deeper rafter penetration is specified.
All batten screws feature a self-drilling tip for fast installation without pre-drilling. Free shipping on orders over $199. Trade pricing — call (03) 5241 9555.
