Stainless steel decking screws are the industry standard for timber deck construction in Australia — they won't rust, stain the timber, or fail structurally the way zinc-plated or electroplated screws can over time.
Toolup stocks a full range of stainless decking screws from SPAX, INOX, AnchorMark, and Macsim, in sizes from 40mm to 120mm, in both 304 and 316 stainless steel grades. All screws are self-countersinking and designed for installation without pre-drilling on most Australian softwoods and hardwoods.
304 vs 316 Stainless — Which Grade Do You Need?
304 (A2) Stainless is the correct grade for the majority of Australian decking jobs. Excellent corrosion resistance for exposed outdoor environments, standard residential builds, and all inland and suburban locations.
316 (A4 / Marine Grade) Stainless contains additional molybdenum that dramatically improves resistance to salt spray and chloride attack. Specify 316 if your deck is within 500 metres of saltwater, near a swimming pool, or exposed to chemical splash. SPAX and AnchorMark both offer 316-grade options in this range.
Sizes and Drive Types
The range covers 10G (5mm) and 12G (6mm) screws from 40mm to 120mm. Drive types include SPAX T-STAR plus T-25, Torx T-20/T-25, and Square Drive No.2. For standard 19–21mm decking board, a 60mm screw is the most common choice. Thicker boards (22mm+) typically suit 70–80mm screws. See individual product pages for sizing guides.
