Topcon RL-H5A Rotating Laser Level — Rechargeable Standard Kit
The Topcon RL-H5A is Australia's go-to self-levelling rotating laser for builders, concreters, landscapers and excavation crews. Press the power button and it levels itself in seconds — and if it gets bumped, it re-levels automatically. Use it for slabs, footings, site set-up, drainage and earthworks across an 800 m working diameter, with manual slope up to 5% and a Slope Matching feature for checking existing grades. The 600 rpm head works well with machine-mounted sensors too. This kit includes the LS-80X hand receiver and the rechargeable Ni-MH battery pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which RL-H5A kit should I choose?
Topcon offers the RL-H5A in four kits: dry battery or rechargeable, each with either the standard LS-80X arrow receiver or the premium LS-110D millimetre receiver. This kit (1021200-46) is the rechargeable version with the LS-80X — a good fit for daily use without buying D-cells. Choose an LS-110D kit if you want an exact mm readout to grade.
What is the difference between the RL-H5A and RL-H5B?
The RL-H5A has an 800 m working diameter, ±10 arc second accuracy and manual slope up to 5%, plus Slope Matching for checking existing grades. The RL-H5B is horizontal-only with no slope function, a 400 m working diameter and ±20 arc second accuracy — a cost-effective choice for flat levelling such as slabs and footings.
Can the RL-H5A do slopes?
Yes. As well as self-levelling for flat work, it supports manual slope of up to 5%, and the Slope Matching feature lets you check grade on existing sloped surfaces. For dial-in grade percentages, step up to the RL-HV1S or RL-HV2S.
What is the difference between the RL-H5, RL-HV and RL-200 series?
The RL-H5 series are self-levelling rotating lasers for general construction: the RL-H5A (800 m, manual slope up to 5%) and the horizontal-only RL-H5B (400 m). The RL-HV series adds dial-in single or dual grade, vertical alignment and Bluetooth app control over 800 m. The RL-200 2S is the long-range dual grade model, covering 1,100 m with grades up to +25% and a radio remote.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 60 hours per charge on the included Ni-MH battery pack, or about 100 hours on 4 × D-cell alkaline batteries as a backup.
Is a tripod and staff included?
No. Pair this kit with the Topcon 5 m staff and dome head tripod combo.
How often should a Topcon laser be serviced and calibrated?
Topcon recommends a service and calibration check every 12 months. This kit comes with an Australian calibration certificate. For service, contact Topcon Australia on 1300 965 273; there are service and calibration centres in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, Canberra and Hobart.
What warranty does the RL-H5A have?
Topcon Australia gives the laser a 5-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. The receiver, rechargeable battery and charger are covered for 1 year. Keep your proof of purchase, as damage from drops or misuse is not covered.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
